Most influential German blogs identified

And you have guessed it: This one is not among them. Well, actually the top blogs in German language (also in French and Italian) were identified in a co-operation between Technorati and Edelman.

Funnily enough I have subscribed to five of the German Top 10 blogs with Bloglines: BILDblog, Spreeblick, Basic Thinking Blog, Lawblog.de and Netzpolitik.org. From an aesthetical point of view they might be not the best you can find on the German blogosphere but they are well known, often referenced, the bloggers are vocal about the subjects they write about and eventually they know how to write a good and interesting article. That’s a combination of assets every serious blogger should try to achieve.

Will check the rest of the Top 10. :)

Update Feb 9, 2011: For some strange reason, this small article seems to be one of the more popular posts on this blog. People even click it 4+ years after it was posted.

So if you’re interested in popular German blogs I recommend having a look at http://www.deutscheblogcharts.de/.

Deutsche Blogcharts is measuring German language blogs and has refined its concept in January 2011. It counts the number of users according to Google’s Ad Planner, the number of other blogs linking to a blog (according to IceRocket) and the number of links to a blog mentioned in tweets (according to Backtype).
