EMI is evaluating to completely abandon DRM from CDs according to a Reuters report from Monday. While this report is not any kind of confirmation, it is encouraging to see one of the big players at least thinking about it.
DRM protected CDs are really a plague for consumers. They cannot play them on every device they desire, though have paid the full price in the shop. Somehow this is like a car that you can drive on highway A but not on highway B while it has to abide by a speed limit on highway C. Not a funny idea.
