30 Boxes Introduces Supermail

Besides being one of the top applications in the online calendar market 30 Boxes is becoming more and more a hub for all your social media activities (see also previous coverage on this blog). It is even a small social network itself by now.

Yesterday 30 Boxes introduced a new feature called Supermail. You can send emails to your buddies on 30 Boxes as well as to any other email address. An adress book is provided (contacts can be imported from various sources). Supermail allows easy tracking of your sent emails. You will get a notifcation when recipients open emails.
If you include links you are even notified when the links are clicked. Privacy advocates will run amok because there is no way recipients can prevent this. On the other hand Supermail is basically designed for buddy communication. I guess, no one will send an important business email using Supermail.

Emails also provide a direct link to your public page on 30 Boxes. Below you see an example of how an email sent by Supermail looks like:

There is also a bookmarklet available which allows users to easily share websites with their buddies. This is especially great if buddies don’t use social bookmarking services.

In future versions Supermail will be able to track blog comments, comments on Flickr and MySpace and much more. It will also be available to users who are not registered to 30 Boxes yet.
