If you were not into the Punk Rock sounds featured in the last blog post you will hopefully like this release from Lithuanian producer Kondencuotas Pienas on German netlabel Debun.
Debun is a rather new netlabel which has released its first tracks in August 2006, though I can’t really comment on them. I just have not listened to any of the releases before. Mostly minimal Techno I guess.
This release is different, though. And quite surprising at least to me. I know Kondencuotas Pienas from his release on Exegene where he has released two very good atmospheric Drum and Bass tracks in 2005. But don’t expect Drum and Bass here.
Two of the three tracks are really beautiful downtempo affairs. Warm, rasping, and dubby sounds, very deep and atmospheric. Even dreamy but not cheesy elevator music. Great tracks to sit back and relax. The second track of the EP - Do You Dub (You Should) - is a very good minimal Techno track, also very deep. A wonderful EP to listen to at home.
