The Other Google FAQ

Philipp Lenssen of Google Blogoscoped has posted a rather unusual FAQ: the Google Censorship FAQ. As you can guess it deals with Google’s censorship practices.

At first China comes to mind when thinking about Google and censorship, but that’s not the only localised Google which censors - or better omits - certain search results. For example Nazi propaganda and denial of the Holocaust are censored in my home country Germany.

Actually to me this topic is not just black and white. Considering this country’s past I can understand censorship of Nazi propaganda somehow. It also follows German jurisdiction: people denying the Holocaust face prison sentences.

Anyway, Philipp’s FAQ is very interesting and certainly worth reading.
