While OpenID has gained some well deserved popularity among internet aficionados over the last couple of months there has been legitimate criticism that there were not enough websites and services accepting OpenID’s.
Though this has changed to some extent. The OpenID Directory has quickly become an invaluable source finding OpenID enabled websites. There is a great variety of sites to discover; from OpenID providers and popular services like Ma.gnolia and Zooomr to many blogs and smaller services which are also worth checking out.
Since its launch in February the OpenID Directory has been re-launched earlier this month and offers some new features. Users can now submit OpenID enabled sites if they are logged in with their OpenID. I think the login screen is really nice:

However submissions will be manually approved, i.e. Thomas Huhn and crew will check OpenID implementation on the submitted sites, usually within 24 hours (my experience). Each submission has a detailed page where you can see who has voted for the site, you can tag it and leave comments. Of course, RSS feeds are also available.

If you are curious about OpenID and want to know where you can use an it I recommend checking out the OpenID Directory. It is a very comprehensive, user driven directory which is growing daily.
