Online calendar application 30 Boxes has released Flash versions of its Buddy Cards today. Buddy Cards display all events and online activity which are linked to people’s life streams on 30 Boxes; life streams have been added to 30 Boxes just a few weeks ago.
Currently there are two versions of Buddy Cards available: a sidebar badge and a full badge. If I have got things right there will be HTML versions available soon as well as options to customise badges even more (colour,…). Those widgets are a really good idea and they will certainly strengthen 30 Boxes’ strategy of extending its activities to profile aggregation and social identity. The calendar application is just one - however excellent - component of it.
Though if you decide to display one of the widgets on your site make sure to check the privacy options in 30 Boxes, i.e. go to Settings|Sharing and decide which parts of your calendar entries should be displayed on your life stream and therefore on the widget.
