About

me

Hi! Welcome to this small blog. I am Carsten Pötter, living and working in Frankfurt am Main, Germany.

I like the concept of OpenID a lot. It is a great idea to have a digital identity across multiple websites, I think. Together with Thomas Huhn I even founded SpreadOpenID.org, a website dedicated to users who want to know more about OpenID. Unfortunately, the website is dead by now. Anyway, OpenID is a topic covered rather often here. Other interests are open standards which will hopefully help to make the social web more open. However, sometimes an off-topic post might creep in as well.

While the blog’s content might be a little bit technical every now and then, please keep in mind that I cannot code. I am looking at things more from a user’s perspective.

I am working for the German statutory pension fund, Deutsche Rentenversicherung Hessen. It is an office job with no relation to the web or anything else covered here.
